AMERICAN TACTICAL IMPORTS CAVALRY
The American Tactical (ATI) Cavalry 12-gauge, 20-gauge, 28-gauge, and.410 gauge over/under shotguns pay homage to the US Army’s nineteenth-century Cavalry and Wild West Remingtons and Winchesters.
Do not be fooled by the fabulous retro-style steel and walnut: these pieces are completely modern and made in Turkey. The lightweight aviation-grade 7075 aluminum used in the construction is designed for high tensile strength and structural integrity. (In fact, this aluminum was invented in Japan and contributed to the Mitsubishi Zero’s maneuverability and exceptional range.) As a result, the package weighs only 6 pounds.
The barrel is constructed of 4140 chrome moly steel and is highlighted by a brass bead front sight. The gun is equipped with five choke tubes that are threaded for use with the Beretta Benelli Mobil Choke System.
Even if these guns were left unadorned, they would be magnificent. That is guaranteed by the sumptuous oil-finished Turkish walnut and gleaming metal. However, several go even further with exquisite laser-engraved scrollwork that affordably replicates the costly hand-engraving process that was once reserved for the most expensive firearms. Additionally, these firearms feature grip-friendly checkering on the forend and pistol grip.
The 12-, 20-, and.410-gauge guns all have three-inch chambers, while the 28-gauge has a two-and-a-half-inch chamber. The lineup features a 14.23″ pull length. The drop from the comb to the heel is 1.45″, while the drop from the comb to the heel is 2.20″. There are a variety of barrel length options available, including 26″, 28″, and other barrel lengths.
Additionally, these guns are available with extractors or ejectors. With extractors, spent casings remain in the firearm but are easily accessible. Casings fling free with ejectors. This may be more convenient unless they attack you upon their appearance and/or if you prefer not to have to look for them. Thus, each has a number of advantages. Additionally, the Cavalry’s standard single-selective triggers allow for precise control over which barrel fires first.
In summary, if you’re looking for an affordable over/under shotgun, ATI‘s retro-modern Turkish delight will not disappoint.
