The GLOCK G36 features the same high-strength polymer frame as other full-size GLOCK semi-automatic pistols, but it features a single stack magazine, which reduces the grip width. Additionally, the internal and external dimensions of the slide were altered to reduce the pistol’s weight. The frame’s front and back straps are checkered to provide a non-slip surface, and finger grooves on the front strap and a finger rest on the front of the trigger guard aid in fire control. A Picatinny rail integrated into the trigger guard allows for the attachment of tactical accessories. The Safe-Action trigger system virtually eliminates the possibility of shooting in high-stress situations. The slide and barrel are made of milled steel and finished in matte black gas nitride for extreme resistance to wear and corrosion. When drawing the pistol from a bag or holster, the fixed front and rear sights cause minimal interference. Without the use of tools, all GLOCK pistols field strip easily.
